Seller Portal Project

Role: UX / UI designer
Tools: Figma, Miro, Slack, Google Drive, Google Meet, Zoom

Project Overview

The B2B project was developed for internal use, with the objective of enabling restaurant owners to establish a commission-free, quick commerce presence. It comprised various steps, enabling owners to create their online food ordering platforms for customers, customising them with their branding. The project lasted two months and included stakeholder interviews.

Problem

The primary challenge we faced originated from our heavy reliance on Magento 2 and limited mobility. Prior to the implementation of the Seller Portal project, a Product Manager on our team was required to guide the client through the process of getting ready to sell. This approach, however, proved to be costly in terms of customer acquisition.

Research

The product managers and customer success team provided me with some preliminary research based on their observations of existing clients. To validate this research and gain a deeper understanding of our customers’ needs, I conducted six interviews with customers, four interviews with colleagues and participated in new customer onboarding sessions to gain an insight into the pain points of our customers and our internal team.

Following these interviews, meetings and observations, I have identified a number of areas where improvements could be made.

I have developed two scope definitions: one for our internal team and one for our external customers. These definitions will help us to focus our product development efforts on the most important areas.pe definition from customer point of view

Design process

I have divided the product design process into three phases, with the first stage focusing on onboarding sellers to our ecosystem. To facilitate this, I have created a clear onboarding guide, which outlines the stages that users must complete in order to make their first sale. In accordance with the company's specifications, I employed components from the Strapi UI Kit design library to create the interface.

Consclusion

During the project period, I worked intensively on screens that required user testing at different levels, including those for product, category, and promotion creation. The project enabled our team to streamline the onboarding process by 50% and acquire more customers.
